Matakana Wedding | Kelly & Liam
The Stables, Matakana Auckland
I recently had the pleasure of meeting Kelly and Liam in Orewa for a coffee, and our shared love of dogs instantly created a bond. Although I hadn't yet welcomed my own furry friend, Rocco, I was thrilled to meet theirs and even more excited that their pooch would be part of their wedding day. Kelly and Liam envisioned a laid-back wedding, and with over 100 guests, I knew capturing those spontaneous, heartfelt moments would be crucial.
We started with a picturesque first look at Omaha Estuary, framed by the stunning Pohutukawa tree that stands alone on the beach front. From there, we ventured to the beautiful Bali Gardens—a hidden gem in the heart of Point Wells that feels like a slice of paradise. Our final stop was The Stables, where Kelly made a grand entrance in an epic muscle car, perfectly suited for a black-and-white photo.
During the ceremony, I was struck by how much Liam and his twin brother resembled each other, save for a tiny difference in their short hairstyles. The speeches were filled with the kind of twin stories that only they could share. After capturing dreamy sunset photos in sun-drenched paddocks, the bridal party delivered one of the most energetic and memorable entrances I’ve ever seen. Their impressive moves as they ran towards me were a highlight of the day.
Reflecting on Kelly and Liam's wedding, what stands out the most is the sheer joy, laughter, and love that surrounded everyone. From the playful antics and heartfelt hugs to the breathtaking sunsets and lively outdoor dancing, this celebration was a perfect blend of sunshine, deep affection, and friends truly there to celebrate the union of two wonderful people. It was a day full of heart and unforgettable moments.
